Road Projects/Closures

Rogers Rd will be closed to traffic (both lanes) on Tuesday 9/5/23 for approximately 4 weeks in order to facilitate construction of a retaining wall project alongside the Chagrin River. The nearest address to the closure location is 37000 Rogers Rd. Traffic will be detoured through River Rd, Chardon Rd, and Worrell Rd. All private drive entrances will remain open. Schirmer Construction will be performing the work. Please plan accordingly.

WILLOUGHBY HILLS (Friday, August 25, 2023) - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is proposing to resurface US-6 (Chardon Rd) between SR-91 (Som Center Rd) and SR-84 (Bishop Rd).
This project is a follow-up to the 2022 project which involved resurfacing Chardon Rd, east of Som Center Rd. Construction is tentatively scheduled to be completed between March and October of 2024. Detailed project schedule information will be refined in Spring 2024.
During construction, Chardon Rd is expected to be open to westbound traffic only. Eastbound traffic will be detoured through Eddy Rd via Bishop Rd, Rockefeller Rd, and Som Center Rd. To reduce the impact on traffic, the project is being planned for construction in two phases. During the first phase, the portion of Chardon Rd between Bishop Rd and Rockefeller Rd will be resurfaced. During the second phase, the portion of Chardon Rd between Rockefeller Rd and Som Center Rd will be resurfaced.
The estimated construction cost is $1.4 million.
